How many guests are allowed on the Island at any given time?
The Island can accommodate up to a maximum of thirty (34) guests for
overnight stay and a maximum of fifty (50) guests for day tour.
Since you will be renting the whole island, you get to choose whether
to have the whole island to yourself, with your partner, or share it
with family and friends.
There will be no other guests on the island apart from your party.
What do I need to bring to the Island?
Since all your meals are already taken care of, you need not bring food
nor drinks. Beverage (juice, soda, drinking water) will be provided
with your meals.
For overnight stay, beach towels will be provided so you need not bring any. The weather is tropical so it is advisable to dress light.

Can I go diving at the Island Buenavista?
Yes, the waters surrounding the Island are home to popular dive sites
in the Davao Gulf. However, diving is pre-booked. For more information,
check our entry on diving.
What else can I do on the Island?
There are many land-based and water-based
activities you can do on the island. We offer you sports and leisure
facilities like kayaks, beach volleyball, snorkel sets, table and board
games, pedal boats and native boats.
Can we have a themed party on the Island?
Yes. We accommodate such special requests, of course, with prior arrangement. Please see our entry on special arrangements.
Do the accommodations have air conditioning?
Only the family villa and the island suites have air conditioning. The beach huts are open-air.
Can I rent your villas individually?
No. When you rent the Island Buenavista, you rent the whole island--whether there's only two of you or ten in your group. That means that when you book the island, you may occupy any among the selection of accommodations—the family villa, island suites and beach huts.
How much do you charge for two people on a weekend?
Because we put a premium on privacy, we charge the same amount for two (2) people as we do for a minimum of ten (10) people as specified in our packages. This is because we only rent out the Island as a whole, and while you are here, we cannot and do not rent it out to anybody else.
What are the check-in and checkout times?
Since you have rented the whole island, you may check in anytime before
3 pm and checkout anytime before 3 pm on your date of departure. We
recommend this as a safety precaution against choppy waves, which is
not uncommon approaching dusk.
Can we travel at night?
No. It is highly recommended that water transfers be done before 3pm. The Island Buenavista is located in the open seas--thus, the waves tend to get choppy in the late afternoon. (View map.)
Do we need to tip the Island Buenavista staff?
Your stay on the Island Buenavista is entirely pre-paid. However, most
guests leave a gratuity to the staff fund, which is distributed once a
month among all the staff.
Can we get married on the Island Buenavista?
Island Buenavista is perfect for beautiful, intimate beachside weddings. Please see our entry on special arrangements and/or contact us to discuss your options.
